GEZOCHT! Acteurs voor een sciencefictionfilm

'The Sad Doll' is set in a cold, desolate Eastern Bloc region. Here, we follow an old, nearly dilapidated robot who embarks on a search through silent streets and fields, on his way to his human owner.

In this film, we want to show the value of people and objects that have been left behind, and what this means for themselves as well as for the people around them.

Omschrijving
We are looking for an actor who can bring the robot and his journey to life, as well as actors to play a role in the robot's life. One lives in luxury, while the other lives on the streets.

Robot (main role)
Age: N/A
Gender: male
Character: A thin, old humanoid robot who will stop at nothing to get back to his owner. He is fragile both inside and out, but possesses a kind soul.
Requirements: Someone who can bring the character to life primarily through body language and without dialogue. The character is realized using visual effects; therefore, we are looking for a strong actor who can convincingly portray the robot's inner world and emotions, so that these can be translated into the digital model.



John (co-lead)
Age: 25–35
Gender: male
Character: The owner of Robot. A young man with a stern demeanor, but a warm and friendly inner self. He sometimes doubts whether he has made the right choices in his life and consequently comes into conflict with the consequences. In the past, he would have taken a bullet for Robot, but perhaps those times are now behind him.
Requirements: Someone who can convincingly display uncertainty, but is ultimately also blunt and dares to make difficult decisions.

The Wanderer (co-lead)
Age: 65–80
Gender: male
Character: A calm, quiet old man with a fragile appearance, who has been abandoned by his family and society. Despite everything he has lost, he knows how to make the best of his surroundings and builds a warm bond with Robot.
Requirements: Someone who can express themselves strongly through silence and minimal means.

De scènes met Robot en John worden op één dag opgenomen in Rode Dorp.

De scènes met Robot en de Zwerver worden op één dag opgenomen in Strand IJburg.

Er is één extra dag gereserveerd voor eventuele opnames in verband met het weer.
