Animator & Mama

This is a short 5-minute animation about the struggles of breastfeeding and pumping. It's a fiction based on my own experiences feeding my newborn and the goal is to let other moms out there in the same boat feel seen, as well as a way to open the discussion on the mental and physical pains that so many new moms suffer through in silence.

The intended style is minimalistic hand-drawn sketches (for a "raw" feel).

The story is currently in the conceptual phase and in order to move forward (such as creating a budget and looking for funds), I'm looking for an animator to collaborate with.

I am specifically looking for an animator who can directly relate to this theme and preferably understands first-hand the emotional rollercoaster that is feeding a newborn.

I prefer to work in or near Amsterdam for any in-person meetings, but happy to work remotely as well.

Throughout 2026, but exact timing and duration depends largely on your own time you have available and how long your process usually takes for a 5-minute animation. (Let's talk!)

Functie eisen / profiel
- Comfortable with English communication
- Has first-hand experience with feeding a newborn and can relate to the film's themes
- Can offer a raw, sketch-like animation (exact style is flexible - let's talk!)
- Preferably based in the Netherlands
- Preferably has made at least 1 short film before

Wat bieden wij?
I will work on building the necessary team, funds, marketing, and distribution.
It's also important to me that the collaboration is positive and friendly.
Basic expenses will at least be covered, and the intention is to raise enough funds to also fully cover your time and creativity.
