Set in a vast dune landscape, the film follows Fleur, a young woman who is losing blood — but does not try to stop it. Where those around her want to protect her, she chooses to feel, to look, and to experience life fully, precisely in her vulnerability.

In a world where pain is avoided, Fleur asks a different question:
Is blood a sign of death — or actually of life?

A stylized fiction film with a philosophical and spiritual undercurrent, within the genre of poetic realism. Working with symbols such as blood and the color red, Fleur embraces the impermanence of life, the idea that nothing lasts forever, and the courage to exist in the moment.

FLEUR (lead role)

Fleur is someone who feels without a filter.
She is present in her body and follows her impulses, even if they lead her towards pain or the unknown.

Where others look away, she looks precisely. Where others stop, she continues.

She has something soft and light, but at the same time something radical and steadfast.
Her energy is open, almost dreamy — but with a deep inner conviction.

She embodies surrender to life.

FRIDA

Frida is closer to control and protection.
She observes, doubts, and tries to keep a grip on what is happening.

In the beginning, she is more withdrawn, cautious, and perhaps even afraid of what she feels.
But through Fleur, she is slowly confronted with something she has not allowed for a long time:
the realization that she is alive.

Her journey is one from hardening to softness, from thinking to feeling.

She embodies the awakening.


Are you a woman (20+) with a natural, physical acting style, and would you like to work on a poetic, visual film?

We are Babet Doornbos and Kim Wisse, film students at the HKU, and we are making a stylized film about transience, consciousness, and embracing life ("carpe diem").

It is a film with little dialogue and a strong focus on image, body, and emotion. We work with symbolism (such as blood and nature) and seek authenticity in movement and presence.

Good to know: There is a scene where you run into the sea (clothes on), and in May it is still a bit cold.
→ We'll provide warm blankets, tea, and maybe a shower afterwards :)

Wat bieden wij?
Als Studenten van de HKU en crew met al meer ervaring in de film zorgen wij voor een professioneel eindresultaat, fijne sfeer op set en een soepele goede productie.

Helaas kunnen we geen reiskosten vergoeden, omdat het slechts een studentenfilm is. Daarom willen wij graag alleen reacties als dat oke is of als je uit de buurt komt/studenten OV hebt!

Wij zorgen wel voor eten tijdens de draaidagen, een leuke ervaring en materiaal om je portfolio uit te breiden!
