My name is Evita Luna Beekman and I am currently working on my graduation film (an immersive video installation) at the HKU. For this film, which focuses on the influence of visual culture on our self-image, I am looking for actresses/models.
The film tells the story of a girl who slowly merges into 'perfect' images, until her own identity fades and she eventually exists only as a flickering image. The installation takes place in a space filled with television screens and projections, where a continuous stream of images such as commercials, music videos, and social media converges.
Within this flow, fragments appear: intimate close-ups and shooting of body parts. The project explores how the body is not viewed as autonomous, but as a surface onto which beauty ideals are projected.
