Logline: During their typical Saturday, we see how the insecure Bo (20) relates differently to her queer identity depending on the people around her.

Hi! We are Lou and Soof, two third-year students at St. Joost in Breda. We are currently working on our short fiction film Aan/Aan about code-switching among people within the LGBTI+ community. It is not always safe for LGBTI+ people to be themselves. Consequently, many LGBTI+ people unconsciously adapt in social situations. Through our own research, we have found that young people within the LGBTI+ community, for example, do not dare to talk about their gender or sexual orientation, dress differently, or withdraw in situations where they feel less safe. With our film, we want to show what code-switching can look like on a daily basis for LGBTI+ people.

For our short film Aan/Aan, we are urgently looking for two actors for small but important roles. This involves one scene with Bo's group of friends and one scene with Bo's parents. The roles are small in content, but contribute significantly to the atmosphere and dynamics of the film.

We are open to everyone; experience is not required. We are primarily looking for people with a natural and subtle playing style.

Roles:

Joep (21, M/F/X) (part of the day: morning)
One of Bo's good friends. Playful, slightly chaotic, and someone who likes to break the tension in a group with humor. Beneath that lightheartedness lies someone who is very perceptive, but prefers to keep the atmosphere light rather than make things heavy.

Han (51, M) (part of the day: afternoon)
Father of Bo and an accountant. Calm, practical, and well-meaning. He loves his child but finds it difficult to truly connect with his feelings and identity. He tries to offer support in his own way but sometimes lacks the right words or timing.

Periode
Voor beide rollen gaat het om één draaidag op 12 mei in Arnhem.

De rol van Joep wordt in de ochtend gedraaid, en de rol van Han in de middag.
