Filmmaker Fokke Baarssen (Almelo, 1986) cannot easily be pigeonholed. He has shown his face in just about every department of film production: directing, producing, screenplay, camera and editing. This versatility has made him an all-round filmmaker who can be used on multiple platforms. Even before obtaining his bachelor's degree, Fokke worked as a DOP and editor on the American documentary "Waiting For... BUDD". The film won five international film awards, including Best Documentary at the New York International Film Festival in Los Angeles and the Audience Choice Award at the Staten Island Film Festival in New York. In 2010, as part of his studies, he wrote and directed the short film "W & Joep" starring Frits Lambrechts and debutant Tolgay Balci. In 2012 he directed his first feature film "De Raad".
